I'm a photographer based in East Nashville, TN. Originally from Chicago, I’ve been taking photographs most of my life, and earned a BFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago. After living in New York City for 5 years, my family and I relocated to Nashville this November, 2017, and we couldn't be more excited!
I've dabbled in everything from food photography to architectural photography, but a few special events led me to discover and embrace my love of shooting kids and families:
- My best friend had kids. They instantly became my models. :)
- I volunteered at a women and children's shelter in Brooklyn and shot portraits of the residents there. Seeing how much the photographs meant to them definitely made an impact on me.
- I started a family of my own. The rest is history!
Stylistically, I lean towards a documentary/lifestyle approach, aiming to capture you and your kids in real moments. Have questions / thoughts / ideas / suggestions? Please let me know!
Fun facts: My 1st camera was a polaroid land camera at age 7, my favorite movie is Amelie, I spent some time studying art history and am passionate about supporting female artists, I'm obsessed with all things black and white, I've worked as a photo studio manager and freelance retoucher at a few fancy places, my partner is a documentary filmmaker, and yes, that is my natural hair color. :)
